Let‘s go back to memory lane when we kicked off in 2016. One of the godfathers of comedy in Ondo State, MC Hondastevo and Domino Richards (Miss NYSC Ondo State as at that time) took up the challenge to host the first edition of the prestigious music award. In 2017, we contacted Cinderella, one of Nigeria’s biggest facial model and ex-beauty queen to host along side foremost Orange FM OAP, Sweet Steve. A week to the event, Cinderella called that she was very sick and she won’t be able to make it, leaving us with no other option than to allow Sweet Steve host alone with the help of Victor Brown (who is now a very big event compere in Benin City). So in the build up to its 3rd edition in 2018, The OSMAs body decided to cancel the idea of double hosts, sticking to just one versatile person (male or female) to host the indigenous music awards. MC Labanj was given the job to host the 2018 edition of The OSMAs on September 30th. He became our first single host.
Now, looking at all the comperes and crowd controllers we have around here, we took our time to select the host that will fit into what we tend to achieve at The Convergence. We want a host that will be able to interpret the convergence script properly on why all entertainers in Ondo State need to form a synergy and help one another. The OSMAs board members nominated MC Layor for the OSMA’s Jury and he was approved immediately. An unveiling photoshoot followed at Emagix Studios, Akure
MC Layor is the latest name on The OSMAs history book.
